Fire and smoke remediation is the process of restoring a property and its contents after a fire or smoke damage has occurred. The process typically involves several steps, which may include:

Assessment and Inspection: The first step is to assess the extent of the fire and smoke damage. This involves a thorough inspection of the property to determine the areas affected and the extent of the damage.

Clean-up and Debris Removal: The second step is to remove any debris and clean up the property. This may involve removing damaged furniture, appliances, and other items, as well as removing soot, ash, and other debris from surfaces.

Water Extraction: If the fire was extinguished with water, the next step is to extract any excess water that may have accumulated in the property.

Smoke and Soot Removal: Smoke and soot can leave behind a residue that can be harmful to both humans and animals. The next step is to remove the smoke and soot from surfaces using specialized equipment and cleaning agents

Odour Removal: Smoke and fire damage can also leave behind a strong odour that can be difficult to remove. The remediation process may include the use of air scrubbers, ozone machines, and other specialized equipment to remove the odour.

Restoration and Reconstruction: Finally, the property is restored to its pre-damaged condition. This may include rebuilding walls, replacing flooring, and repainting surfaces.

It's important to note that fire and smoke remediation is a complex process that should be handled by trained professionals. If your property has suffered fire or smoke damage, it's best to contact a reputable remediation company to assess the damage and start the remediation process.

Thermal Fogging

Thermal fogging is a process used in fire restoration to eliminate smoke odor from a building. It involves using a machine that heats a deodorizing solution and then disperses it as a fog throughout the affected area. The fog is made up of tiny droplets that penetrate deeply into porous surfaces and crevices where smoke particles can be trapped.

The deodorizing solution used in thermal fogging contains a powerful solvent that can dissolve and neutralize smoke particles. It also contains a masking agent that helps to cover up any remaining odor. The fogging process typically takes several hours and can be repeated as needed until the odor is completely eliminated.

Thermal fogging is often used in conjunction with other fire restoration techniques such as air scrubbing, carpet cleaning, and surface cleaning. It is an effective way to remove smoke odor and restore a building to its pre-fire condition.
